Switchable Aspect Ratio: Allows a smooth migration from 4:3 to 16:9 acquisition.
Interfacing: Allows the use of several popular digital and analog tape
formats including Betacam SP and DVCAM.
Digital Signal Processing: Digitally enhances picture quality and stability,
gives the videographer greater control over the camera, and allows for expanded
creativity in capturing the image. RGB 10 bit A/D converter. Latest state-of-the-art
digital signal processing for faithful color and a wide dynamic range of contrast.
Allows remote control of all the camera functions through a wideband triax system
(TX7). Skintone detail function accounts for outstanding quality of images reproducing
human skin.
Optimized Set-Up Functions: Fully digital set-up functions establish
stable and accurate camera settings that can be tailored to the user's needs.
These settings can be digitally loaded to other DXC-D30 cameras for precise
matching.
ClipLink Operation: In conjunction with Sony's EditStation non-linear
editing system, the ClipLink feature permits "editing while shooting" by marking
clips and filing them with timecode on the DVCAM videocassettes. The ClipLink
feature can save time and valuable disk space on non-linear systems and allows
editors to begin work with an instant edit list and reference shots.
DVCAM Storage/RS-232C: Using built-in communications, camera set-up files
can be stored on the DVCAM videocassettes and transmitted to remote cameras
using RS-232C-based external equipment
